ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
Eir Nordic is a Nordic collaboration that brings together people and organisations providing care and support for individuals living with epilepsy and intellectual disability.

Eir Nordic is founded and fully funded by Jazz Pharmaceuticals.
Our mission is to improve knowledge, share
stories of good care and elevate successful, local
initiatives to regional best practices.

We do this by recognizing those who go above and beyond in delivering care across two categories:
individual Role models and systemic Change-makers.

According to Norse Mythology, Eir is the goddess of healing.
Eir directly translates into mercy, protection and support.

People living with epilepsy and intellectual
disabilities deserve better care.
Submissions for Eir Nordic 2025 closed on May 14, but anyone invested in the care of people living with epilepsy and intellectual disabilities is welcome to join.

CATEGORIES OF RECOGNITION
We welcomed submissions for activities either by the individuals themselves or by someone else on their behalf, and we recognize excellence in care in two categories:
ROLE MODELS
CHANGE-MAKERS

individuals who defy expectations
and with empathy and determination
bring health and hope to this
underserved population. This can
be a family member, a primary carer,
a physician or any other person
involved in the continuum of care.

systemic and scalable change efforts
designed to improve quality of life
for this group of patients. Activities
can range from raising awareness to
improving diagnosis, ensuring equal
access to healthcare, managing the
disease of improving conditions for
patients, and can come from public
or private sector.
A panel representing Nordic epilepsy patient associations and clinical expertise is assessing all submissions using four criteria:
Relevance to the cause
Commitment and passion
Demonstrated positive change
Scalability

The submissions chosen by the panel will be selected to speak at:
